My Google maps, no javascript required!
Google allows you to add a full fledged google map to your webpage, with pins, lines, and just about every feature you
would want. The only downside: you need to add javascript to your page (which is not always an option), and for the
fancy features you need to know how to write javascript programs.
Here we allow you to take any of the maps you create with 'My Maps' feature from google. If you just need a simple
map on your webpage you might prefer our simple google maps widget. However, if
you need multiple pins, lines or any other advanced feature you need to follow these steps:
- If you do not have a google account yet you need to create a google account.
- Open google maps and click on the 'My Maps' Tab.
- Create a map with all the features you need (click on the help link at the top rigth corner of the screen).
- Right-click on the 'View in Google Earth Link' and select 'Copy link' or 'Copy Shortcut'.
- Paste the link you just copied into the 'My Url' field of a map form below.
- Select map type, size, zoom factor and voila, your map is ready!
Note that whenever you change your map on the google website the map on your website/blog is automatically updated.
